UGIMA®-X. Originating from the expertise of steel craftsmanship at Ugitech, this standout product is known for its exceptional quality, revealing clear and tangible benefits.
In an industry filled with choices, the complexity of making the right material choice is evident. UGIMA®-X is an innovative product by the French steel manufacturer Ugitech, and transforms our understanding of stainless bars by offering unmatched quality and benefits.
A study, launched in 2023, was carried out on bars from 4 other leading suppliers of bars. Across all tested parameters, including chip breakability, uniformity and tool wear, UGIMA®-X stands out as the top winner of the tests.
So, what makes this product so special? UGIMA®-X comes with a multitude of benefits that ultimately enhance your overall production:
UGIMA®-X enables operations at higher speeds without compromising on precision or quality. This translates to productivity increases of 10 to 20% compared to former versions of UGIMA grades. Moreover, the enhanced chip breaking helps to improve the cycle time per part. In essence, it encompasses the assurance of smoother processes, the reduction of errors, and the attainment of optimal results.
UGIMA®-X material is known for its tool-friendly characteristics. In fact, the tools will increase an extended effective lifespan, lasting up to 45% longer, compared to previous standard grades. As a result, UGIMA®-X reduces tool wear, leading to generally lower costs.
UGIMA®-X ensures an unparalleled level of uniformity. During the production of UGIMA®-X, significant attention has been given to achieving this uniformity, not only within products from the same batches but also across products from different melts at the mill. The result is a high-quality product that delivers unmatched machinability.
At the Danish production company IMAS, UGIMA®-X has significantly boosted production speed while also preserving the longevity of tools on CNC machines. UGIMA®-X surprised the experienced CNC operators at the Danish company:
"We were somewhat skeptical because our machine was already making noise at 60, and you definitely don't want to turn it up at that point. But it exceeded all expectations," says CEO Allan Rasmussen and continues "The production time per unit decreased by a whopping 35 percent from 8.5 minutes to 5.5 minutes. That is a saving of 3 minutes – which can then be multiplied by the thousand units we had to produce."
