Damstahl ready for the future with a new visual identity

Damstahl’s visual identity was born five decades ago. Now, this profile is being retired and replaced by a new customer-focused identity and communication that makes Damstahl’s core business even clearer for everybody.

The new identity has emerged through an exciting process with inspiration both from sister companies within the NEUMO Ehrenberg Group and from Damstahl employees. The aim is to clearly communicate Damstahl’s values and show to the market the belonging to the NEUMO Ehrenberg Group. Furthermore, the business mission "On your side" is being introduced.

Michael Lund, Group CEO at Damstahl, puts it this way "Times are changing, and it is important that Damstahl's visual identity reflects the vitality and values which we emphasize as a company."

 

A Growing and Changing Company
Historically, Damstahl has been specialized in selling stainless steel. The range is now expanding to include aluminium and red metals. This change is made to meet the demand, to make it easier for the customers and to utilise the possibilities of Damstahl's digital commerce platform.

"The new identity is not a farewell to our history, it rather relates to the customer than to the product, and our well-known pay-off 'Stainless Steel Solutions' has now been overtaken by reality," Michael Lund states.

Tradition for Responsibility
Damstahl has strong roots. In 1947, Senator Henry Ehrenberg founded the parent company NEUMO with the purpose of reducing infant mortality in Europe through hygienic food production and improved food safety. This heritage is still reflected in Damstahl's values and thereby makes it natural to take responsibility for the climate, the environment and society, both near and far.

"We were born with responsibility as a core value, so playing a positive role in society and making our customers better off through responsible business solutions is a central part of our mindset," says Michael Lund.

 

Communication is a Commitment
Not only the communication and the visual identity are being modernized. Damstahl is currently undergoing a transformation process that includes the construction of new facilities, digitalization of workflows and customer service as well as highly improved logistics systems. Everything is based on the mission "On Your Side", which exactly relates to improving the customer's business and strengthening the customer's role in the value chain. Therefore, Michael Lund dares to guarantee that Damstahl lives up to the promises in the communication:

"We are not judged by our signals, but by what we actually are doing. We are measured on whether we are on the customer's side, fulfilling our core mission to deliver stainless steel and metals to the customer's satisfaction, and whether we are leaders within sustainability, responsibility and transparency. And here we are in a good position - there is substance behind the communication."

 

In the Air on 18 April
Damstahl's new identity was announced internally on Friday 14 April in all 11 countries of the Group, and will be launched externally on Tuesday 18 April.
