Heat-resistant austenitic stainless steel

EN 1.4828 / AISI 309
EN 1.4828 / AISI 309 is the lowest alloyed high-temperature steel. It resembles 4301, however, with the crucial difference that 4828 contains between 1,5 and 2,5% silicon (Si), which enhances the resistance against scaling.

EN 1.4841 / AISI 314
EN 1.4841 / AISI 314 is an extremely highly alloyed steel that contains 24-26% Cr and 19-22% Ni. Compared to the “little brother” above, 4841 has enhanced mechanical qualities and even better resistance against corrosion and “scaling”. The biggest disadvantage of this steel is the high content of Ni, which both makes the steel expensive and volatile in regard to price.
